The location is in the mountains of Kameoka. The hotel have a pick service at the nearst JR train station which was super convinent. You only have to pay for a small car fee. We were warmly welcomed by the staff and had a small tea and dessert ceremony while getting information about the place, choose dinner/breakfast time, yukatas and massage/privat baths if needed. Our room was huge and felt peaceful and quiet. My partner had tattoos, which is not welcomed in public baths, but the staff told us to cover it up and it would be fine! They gave us some covers for that! Otherwise we did book a ryokan with a private bath! If that’s not possible you can book a private one to share with your love ones which was surprinsingly affordable. The public baths were nice, clean and filled with facilities like towels, shampoo, lotions, hairdryer etc. After a bath you can grab a cold yoghurt drink and make a tea/coffee in the lounge AND enjoy their homemade ice creams! Everything free of charge. I would recommend to stat here for two nights! Then you’ll get more time to enjoy your ryokan. The dinner was also amazing! This place was such a memorable experience for my partner and I, and we definetly want to go back sometime!

The staff and the attention to detail were incredible. Everyone was so kind and helpful and did everything to make our stay a memorable one. The location was beautiful and relaxing and the weather was perfect for use of our private balcony onsen. Everything we needed was supplied and many complementary items were provided. We loved wearing the katas to dinner! And speaking of dinner, the meal by the chef was spectacular! Everything was delicious and the presentation of each course was like a work of art. Each course was described and presented in a specific order. It was a once in a lifetime experience for me and my husband. The facilities at the communal onsen were also amazing. There was everything you would need to relax and pamper yourself. It was a perfect break from our days of hectic touring. It was also great having the shuttle service to and from the station. It made getting there so easy. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience.

Truly a special place to stay! Everything was just as advertised, if not better. The room was absolutely gorgeous with all the amenities you could hope for including coffee, snacks, drinks and luxury hair- and skincare products. The bed was so comfortable I didn't want to get back up. Dinner and breakfast were both delicious, every course was explained in detail with instructions on how to best enjoy each dish. Since the food depends on the season so much, I would love to come back at a warmer time of year one day to see the difference. In addition to the shared onsen and the one on the balcony, you can also book a time slot for a private outdoor bath. They also have the option to book a massage, which was wonderful after traveling for two weeks and carrying a backpack the entire time. If I get the opportunity to come back, I would love to stay for two nights in order to fully enjoy everything.

Everyone was exceptionally kind. You are greeted by the staff as you arrive in the shuttle. You are given a snack in a waiting area and are then shown to your room. The room was beyond our expectations. It was spacious, had lots of little extras like drinks, snacks, massage chair, a bed or futon. We had a room with a private open-air onsen, which was lovely. We had a balcony with a beautiful view of the mountain forest. Dinner was the best meal of my life. It was a 7 course meal. The flavors of every dish danced on my tongue. Absolutely remarkable, all of it. Breakfast was just as stunning. On top of everything tasting great, there was so much food there's no way you could leave hungry. This stay was a dream. Perfect.

One of the most memorable experiences from our two-week trip to Japan was our stay at a serene ryokan after five intense days exploring Tokyo. It was the perfect place to unwind, recharge, and prepare for the rest of our journey. We chose Kyo Yunohana Suisen because it offers private onsen baths and is located near Kyoto. The kaiseki cuisine was exquisite, showcasing seasonal ingredients with beautiful presentation. The overall service was outstanding—thoughtful and attentive. The lounge, in particular, stood out for its quiet, relaxing atmosphere.
